Dear friends this is my seventh post on ongoing Saturn Retrograde 2016. In the previous post, I had talked about the special nature of this years Saturn retrograde,  which is lot like an elaborate Rajasic Shakti energy Layered Cake, possessing many elaborate and  powerful underlying layers. And today I want to talk about the next Seven Days, that represent the culmination of this long buildup since Feb 20th itself, as mentioned in my previous post. The next Seven Days representing the rise of Sun in Aries from 8th degree to max 15th degree i.e, max exaltation, from 22nd April, Friday to 29th April, exactly Seven days.. from Friday to Friday. Like a ultra blockbuster movie running for exactly one week.. Friday to Friday!!
I'm really sorry for uploading this today, Tuesday evening, but as you would read below, you would understand my Saturnine experience/ viewpoint, and forgive my obvious Saturnine delay!
Below is the ling to Seven Days.. my ever favourit Sting song since the summer of 1996..

I feel, if utilised properly, especially by the Rajasic, Shakti, dynamic Sun, Moon, Ketu, ruled people (not Mars, as Mars is currently retrograde) this seven days can comprise the Seven doorways one has to cross, to reach liberation, or the kundalini rising through Seven Chakras to reach fulfilment. Each of these Seven days, owing to the long buildup since Feb 20th itself, (mentioned in detail in the previous post), can be compared to the Seven notes, or Seven colours of the rainbow from the Shakti ruled people. It reminds me of the multifarious rainbow colours of the rainbow crystal!! Just reach out and touch it. Yes, this is your time to merge into Shakti, take the leap to connect to energy. An amazing moment, an amazing opportunity!

However, for the Saturnine people, Saturn ruled people, it's definitely the most challenging, even ghoulishly cathartic Seven days, and can be compared to the Seven tasks of Hercules, or like the tests faced by Prahlad, at the hands of Hiranyakashipu. There's nothing much to do except chant the name of God, Vishnu, Jesus, Allah, Mahakali, Guru, according to one's religious practice. The special nature of this scorching one week would see the worst fears of the Saturnine person come to rise, come alive. Like my favourite childhood comic book Tarzan at the valley of Death, sorry I couldnt find the link where Tarzan crosses seven challenges, in a demonic mountain, to get a sacred flower to cure Jane, of an evil spell, BUT, that comic was the most artistically created masterpiece, where Tarzan and his companions face the Seven sacred fearsome challenges, in the valley of deat.

But, due to the this years retrograde Saturn being in Scorpio, this Herculean test of Seven days, fearsome challenge would be highly internal, complex, involving stinging emotions, scathing rebukes, and churning of one's internal insecurities brought to life. And, more so because Mars itself is retrograde and conjunct with Saturn. Imagine a very intensely visceral scenario, a lot like this years Oscar winning movie The Revenant directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu starring Leonardo De Caprio.

 

Where the challenges faced by the protagonist comes in layers, much like the Layered Caked described in my previous post. In a series of subsequent events one following the another. In fact, my friend Mriganka was repeatedly talking about this movie, and I should have shared this movie analogy in the earlier post itself, but due to the extreme Saturnine challenges and delays that I'm currently facing, all these identifications and expressions are surfacing only now.

Saturn Retro 2016-6: Energy Layer Cake

Dear friends this is my sixth post on ongoing Saturn Retrograde 2016. In today's post, I want to narrate about the very special nature of this years Saturn retrograde, 2016, which can be compared to a distinct, and elaborate Rajasic Shakti energy Layered Cake, possessing elaborate sediments of powerful underlying layers...


The first Rajasic Shakti from 10th of March, gets tremendously boosted up, because Mars enters Scorpio in February 20th itself, forming the volatile Mars- Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, the explosive Shani Mangal yoga, from February 20th itself, TWO WEEKS prior to (Brown) Arrest Phase of Saturn retro begins. This year, the 15 day build period,the Arrest Phase of Saturn Retro (refer graph above). starting

Once the Red coloured Red Hot Phase begins from 24th March, te official commencement date of Saturn Retrograde 2016, the energy level goes crazy in the early stage itself, powered by the explosive combustion energies of overwhelming Mars- Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, the explosive Shani Mangal yoga. Especially, as Scorpio is a sign ruled by volatile Mars.

Just when you thought that things would get slightly cooler, once the (Orange) 2nd Gear Phase sets in from 8 April, Lo and Behold, another Rajasic Shakti layer.. Chaitra vasant navratri 2016 begins, in which the waxing Moon phase, Devi Shukla Paksha is oozing and exploding with Rajasic, Shakti energies. The energies of  this Navaratra shakti Moon phase, Devi Shukla Paksha become stronger day by singular day, much beyond the traditionally observed 9 days of Navaratra, well into the 15th day, the Full moon, the Chaitra Devi Purnima, conclusion on 22nd April, Friday.

As a further layer, the week Thursday, 14th April to Thursday, 21st April represents what I term as the Rising Sun- Moon week, as the rising Rajasic Shakti energies of the Navaratra Devi Shukla Paksh, i.e, waxing moon, is paralleled/ mirrored by a rising Sun. increasing exaltation of Sun from 1st degree to 8th degree in Aries/ Mesha, the sign of the Sun's exaltation.
This powerful phase is fuelled FURTHER On, because of a multi planetary retrograde currently going on .. the major planets Jupiter, Mars, Saturn being retrograde, Mercury almost combust by Sun in Aries. Then, Rahu and Jupiter conjunct in Leo, to create Guru Chandala yog. And on 17th april, Mars goes retrograde, BOTH RETROGRADE,  in Scorpio..  an advanced version of Shani Mangala yoga. Only Venus, now exalted in Pisces, but then without Saturnine influence Venus represents pure Shakti incarnate energies, hence most of the Devi Shakti rituals especially connected to Laxmi, are often performed on Fridays, i.e, Shukra-var, a day ruled by Venus, i.e, Shukra. 
As many other planets are retrograde, or conjunct to exert any individual energy influence, the sharp and distinct Sun Moon energies are laser sharp in this week.

Finally, as the Rising Sun and Moon phase, concludes on Purnima/ Full Moon of 22nd April, Friday, the fun doesn't stop, AS, the final layer comes in the energy cake, as the Sun continues it's rise from 9 degrees to 15 degrees, the maximum possible exaltation in Aries, on 29th April, Friday.

IN CONCLUSION: All Rajasic, Shakti, Sun, Moon, Mars etc ruled people should make the maximmum of this Layered Cake energy drama from February 20th to 29th April, a Super Diwali bonus of Saturn Retrograde, 2016!
And Saturn, Rahu ruled should utilise it for all kinds of regression, pending, cathartic, pending, past pending activities, hopefully from inside of a drak cave..!!

Dear friends in the previous post I wrote about Saturn Retrograde connecting to post modern theories of Gilles Deleuze in his landmark book Difference and Repetetion, (click link: Post: Saturn-retro-2016-04: Difference-and-repetition). In today's post, I want to discuss various theories of post modern thinker Slavoz Zizek about reality and how it connects to Saturn Retrograde. 

"Reality is produced through a "grimace of the Real" - an impossibility that becomes distorted into reality. Example- the blinding Sun that generates illumination through being beyond more than reality. The Real itself is "nothing but a grimace of reality". The Real that which shines through the distorted perspective we call reality. 

Reality is sustained by an excess that cannot be incorporated within it (the indigestible bone in the throat). Reality is the very consequence of a mind splinter. Distortions in reality are always possible because of the basic distortion illumination and whose outline can only be perceived by looking awry."

Uncanny that Zizek connects the phenomenon of illumination of reality, to the blinding Sun. He says that Reality is something so blazing and powerful, that we percieve it only through distortions. Exactly, how we understand planetary influences ONLY when a particular planet is debilitated, negative, withdrawn, diminished, weak, and distorted.

 

 Like, for example Saturn ruled people can only understand the function and nature of their Saturnine energies, ONLY when Saturn is Retrograde, when the usually forward moving Satrurnine influence is reticent,  withdrawn, diminished,  weak, and distorted!! And without the shade of the black Saturnine umbrella, they recieve the full hot blaze of the Sun, frying up their innards and pouters.

But for those ruled by Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, rajas ruled it's quite the contrary!! ONLY when Saturn is retrograde, their energies bloom completely without the usual Tamasic interference, the cyclic grind, the heavy Gravitas of Saturn, which always keeps them in loop, in the cycle of things. Without the influence of Saturn, they are enabled to facilitate the full blaze of the Pitta energy, neccesary for them to take that annual quantum jump into their next level of evolution.

Like, I was discussing in the previous post, most people equate Saturn with repetition, and Sun as a source of origin. However, in actuality, for Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, rajas ruled people it is true. BUT for Saturnine people, the Sun is the source of cyclicity, repetition, as in the annual Solar calendar of 365 days, with it's annual festivals held on specific fixed dates. And Saturn is the source of all difference, movement, differentiation and evolution.

Dear friends this is my fourth post on the ongoing Saturn Retrograde 2016. In today's post I want to write about Saturn Retrograde with context to the  contemporary theories expounded by Gilles Deleuze in his work post modern Difference and Repetition. So obviously today's post would be slightly theoretical and technical, and often layered. But before commencing it, I would like to update that, as predicted, myself being Saturn ruled am going through a difficult period of catharsis, especially this being the first two week of annual Saturn retro, the red colored hot rising retro phase ( check diagram above). I am suffering from poisoning, weakness, dehydration, and dizziness. But am making space to write this post. Because, such is the demand of the hour..

In chapter II, Repetition For Itself, page 141, Deleuze says.." This is how the story ends: by undoing it's too well centered natural or physical circle and forming a straight line, which then, led by it' own length, reconstitutes an eternally de-centered circle.."
This subsequent alteration between linear and circular phases are directly connected to the phases of Saturn becoming retrograde and directional.
During Saturn retro, Sun/ Mars/ Pitta ruled people become linear/ straight/ sharp "..and forming a straight line.." and once retrograde ends becomes  elliptical movements.. "which then, led by it' own length, reconstitutes an eternally de-centered circle..". Hence, once Saturn becomes directional, Sun/ Mars/ Pitta ruled people connect to the Affirmation of the Eternal return.

Conversely Saturn ruled people "..become  an eternally de-centered circle.." during Saturn retro, and ideally, once Saturn turns directional/ forward, becomes ".. a straight line, which then, led by it' own length...". Hence, once Saturn becomes directional, Saturnine people connect to energy of  ".. excessive systems which link the different with the different, the multiple with the multiple, the fortuitous with the fortuitous, in a complex (series) of affirmations.."
We thus see, Saturn is more about a series of multiplicities, and Sun more about a centered Eternal return, a subordinating, and subjugating Singularity,

Saturn Retro 2016-03: Mars in Scorpio

Dear friends this is my third post on Saturn Retrograde 2016. Today Friday, the 24th March, Saturn becomes Retrograde at 3:45 pm IST, until 14th Aug. In today's post  I want to discuss the effects of Mars in Scorpio on prevailing Saturn retrograde 2016 since Mars and Saturn both are together in Scorpio, Mars being fiery/ rajasic/ pitta incarnate and Saturn being airy, tamasic, vayu incarnate, hence their combined effect creates some unusual, and unprecedented features of this years Saturn Retrograde 2016.

Mars transits Libra to Scorpio:     February 20, 2016 (Saturday) at 17:06
Mars turns retrograde:                  April 17th
Mars transits Scorpio to Libra:     June 17, 2016 (Friday) at 22:41
Mars turns directional:                  June 29th
Mars transits Libra to Scorpio:     July 12, 2016 (Tuesday) at 15:23 

Super High Rajasic energies from February 20th to 17th April: Because Mars and Saturn are conjunct in Scorpio, a sign ruled by Mars, Saturn Retrograde conjunct Mars will be HIGHLY AMPLIFIED from 24th Mars to 17th April. And since Mars enters Scorpio on 20th Feb, the Rajasic effects of Saturn Retrograde would prematurely unfold from 20th Feb itself, and more so from 10th March, after commencement of the (brown) Arrest phase of Saturn Retrograde. And more so the period from 24th Mars to 8th April, as it's the Red Hot  two weeks Increasing Retro phase of Saturn Retro. Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, Rajasic people would feel highly alleviated and invigorated and Saturn ruled people could feel highly diminished in this phase.

After 8th April: as Saturn Retro moves into it's slightly reduced 2nd Gear (Orange phase), the sharp Rajasic effects would drop a bit.
And after 17th April, after Mars goes retrograde, the Rajasic effects of saturn Retrograde will be further muted, diluted, softened to an average level. It'll be a fairly build up, level run for Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, Rajasic people. And a kind of neutral phase for saturn ruled people. This would simmer down further after 8th May, as Saturn Retrograde moves into it's third gear, Yellow phase.

Period from 8th June to 29th June: would be highly Saturnine, as Mars retrograde phase coincides with the blue coloured Falling Retro phase of saturn Retro. Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, Rajasic people would feel lethargic in this phase after a long period of activity from 24th mar itself, and saturn ruled people would feel highly alleviated, energised, and actualised. Especially more so, in the period from June 17 to 29th Jun as retrograde Mars exits Scorpio, and enters Libra, ending the Mars + saturn conjunction temporarily.

Ultra High Rajasic energies from July 8th to 1st August: The final phase of Saturn Retro, the super high rajasic phase would be unbelievably sharp and powerfully Rajasic/ Pitta ruled, because Mars ends it's retrograde on 29th June, and enters Scorpio on July 12th. So, especially the period from 12th July to 1st Aug would be extremely sharp, Rajasic, Pitta ruled. making the Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta, Rajasic people highly alleviated and empowered and Saturn ruled people highly diminished, reduced in this phase.

But finally after 1st August: comes, the 4.5 month long Saturn Retrograde energies vanish abruptly two weeks prior to it's directional motion. And things are restored to the universal balance. More or less.

Saturn Retro Strategies: Since the annual Saturn Retrograde is an essentially Solar phase, so it's a great period if utilized properly for all Rajasic, Yang, Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta ruled people for all kinds of ventures, initiatives, progresses and breaqkthroughs. But a period of meditation, reflection, retrospection, rewind for Saturnine ruled people. If the energies of Saturn Retrograde are utilised properly, they can bring long lasting effects that carry onwards into subsequent years.

This year, because of Mars in Scorpio, the two periods 24th April to 8 April and 8 July to 1st August are super Rajasic, sharp Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta ruled, making it a truly unusual saturn retrograde 2016.
Rajasic, Yang, Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta ruled people should utilise the above mentioned periods for all kinds of ventures, initiatives, progresses and breakthroughs.
However it requires some special strategies for survival for Saturnine people. Meditation, silence, forbearance, restraining oneself from unnecessary communication, retreat are very important strategies for this period. rather than being aggravated by prevailing circumstances, they should adopt the strategies of forbearance and silence.
One things about Rajasic, Pitta, sharp Yang energies, is that, even though it is sharp and powerful, they don not last too long, UNLESS, utilized,  or responded to. Hence a PROACTIVE response from Rajasic, Yang, Sun, Mars, Ketu, Pitta ruled people is needed. And a mute, INERT, neutral, silent approach of forbearance is needed by Saturnine people.

Saturn Retro 2016-02: Commencement

Dear friends, this is my 5th consecutive year of blogging about the annual period of 4.5 months of Saturn Retrograde. This year, 2016, Saturn Retrograde is from 24th Mar- 14th Aug. Today was Holi, a highly Solar festival coinciding with Thursday. And Jupiter is in Leo ruled by the Sun. Mars is in one of its ruled signs Scorpio where Saturn Retrograde is taking place. So it's a rare combination of Sun Jupiter Mars energies in today's Holi on the eve of Commencement of Saturn Retrograde 2016 from tomorrow for next 4.5 months.
Saturn ruled people like myself must have experienced this Holi as a looming void. The feeling of peering into a deep and empty well.

From few weeks prior to the beginning of Retrograde, ( as Saturn was slowly drawing to a standtill across the heavens {relative to us}), I was instinctively feeling heavy, introspective, thoughtful, complex, sluggish, layered, serpentine, complicated, eccentric, esoteric, dis-focused, hazy, cumbersome. Only today, when I created the chart above for Saturn Retro 2016, above and plotted the dates, did it struck me, I was well already into the brown Arrest phase, the Commencement, the preface of Saturn retrograde. 

As the years have unfolded, I realize that I really don't enjoy writing. Especially in this serpentine, unravelling, self narrative kind of manner. But it's the Saturn Retrograde component in myself that finds myself doing this.. writing, self dissection, self unravelling. as expressed in many previous posts, this kind of serpentine writing is nothing but a direct function of saturn Retro for me. Or rather, thye Mercurial function of writing is completely Solar/ Sun ruled for me, because Sun + Mercury lies in my 12th house of Virgo, a sign ruled by Mercury.

Like as in all other processes and functions, this process of Saturn Retrograde can be modified or somewhat tweaked by one, according to one's preferences and predispositions. and hence, I want to write some super heavy posts, layered beyond belief, when the Saturn Retrograde process is just fresh beginning, just Commencing!! 

As in Quantum physics, Heisenberg's uncertainity principle, and all other things there is always this Position and Momentum duality of a particle. at one time, you can either figure out a Position of a particle or otherwise it's Momentum, not both. So, in Saturn Retrograde I voluntarily engage in Position, or observations by lying still, rooted, retrograde or fixated at a point in space/ time. whereas, when Saturn turns directional I would always Prefer/ Choose... Momentum/ movement over all and everything else!!! 

If it was not for this Sun + Mercury in my 12th house, or 4th and 5th Lord Saturn/ Shanidev in Gemini, cojunct with debilitated Ketu, I could have been, should have been, ought to have been, a great writer. and NOT this spurtive posts on the annals and minutes on the soul transforming process of annual Saturn Retrograde of 4.5 months!!

Many a times, i think about my personal Becoming/ my life journey, from different personal, spiritual, astrological perspectives. However, as i hammer out these sentences on this dusty, homely  keyboard, i realize that (strangely) MINE story is NOT about any Becoming, but rather.. an Un-Becoming process, the purifying, cathartic process of Saturn Retrograde , so that the DEFAULT setting of my Quirky, Krazy, personality full of movement emerges! I have extricate myself,only by the purifying process of Energy Clearing and the annual period of saturn Retrograde!!

As I hammer out these words, i write in absolute speed, i.e, at the rate of which my thoughts are  emerging/ emergent! But I have reached this absolute speed, only after five years og blogging acutely and minutely about Saturn Retro. Even prior to, which, I have years and years of notes on Saturn Retro.

"damn and doggerty! I can only talk 'bout Saturn retrograde, and nothing elsewhile". Then, he put on his cowboy hat, and rode his horse Abner, into the Sunset, vanishing into the horizon..!  

Elijah, looked into the abyss of the well. It reminded him of his own self, his own looming decades of inactivity and wastefulness. On the old radio, the Pink Floyd song Time crackled..

" Ticking away the moments that make up a Dull day

You fritter and waste the hours  that make up the day"

"No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.."

"And then one day, you find, that, ten years have gone behind you.."

Reading over this post, i find it askew, discoherent, talking in many tongues, layers, tangents, many lines and flights of departure. Such is the form of the Saturn ruled, in the times of Saturn Retrograde!

BUT this blog is such a Vent, DURING the times of Saturn retro! Like, a kind of phlebotomic relief for those suffering from high blood pressure.

Saturn Retro 2016-01: Introduction

Dear friends, the annual period of 4.5 months of Saturn Retrograde this year, 2016, is from 24th Mar- 14th Aug. This is my fifth consecutive year of posting online about Saturn retrograde. The annual  4.5 month Saturn Retrograde is a special period for all Rajasic, Pitta, ruled people to move forward/ break through, because Saturn the master tamasic/ inertial lord himself is Retrograde, i.e, withdrawn, reversed, etc, etc. Similarly, it is an important period for all Saturn ruled people to regress/ review/ rewind. When this period is utilized properly, it  bring harvests whose effects supercede, and continue to persist over many subsequent years.

This year, Saturn Retrograde 2016, is very magnified, as Saturn Retrograde is happening in Scorpio, conjunct with Mars. So the fiery/ pitta energies of  Mars are completely overriding Saturnine energies in the sign of Scorpio, a sign ruled by Mars.
As illustrated in the above diagram, the actual effects of Saturn retrograde is felt two weeks before the retrograde officially commences. Indicated by the 2 week period titled as Arrest (in brown).
Last year, Saturn Retro 2015, the 2 week Arrest period commenced by my mother in laws hectic eventful visit to Delhi. Which coincided with wife Sangeetas, girls trip out to Kasauli. On women's day 8th march, I was up at Kasauli with 6 women, aged from 6 years to 68 years. Both altitude, hills, and women Shakti/ Durga are representative of Solar/ shakti energies.  When we returned, barely after a days rest, mother in law, and I left for a eventful and hectic pilgrimage to Ujjain. She left yesterday, on the very morning of the beginning of Saturn retrograde, 2015.
Hence, 2 week long Arrest phase, which normally a Saturn ruled person experiences in terms of drop, gravitas, lethargy, brakes, drop in energy levels, I experienced as ascent, being at the centre of a huge energy vortex, etc. No wonder, as the year unfolded, I experienced long stretches of ennui and silent runs, etc. No matter, what one does, the Saturnine yoga/ kriya of this period surpasses, supercedes all other activities.
That's what Saturn ruled Naopleon overlooked in that Saturn Retrograde of 1812. Otherwise probably, I would've been writing this article in French instead of English!! Check diagrams below..
