Log 05: After Paris resurrection

In a previous post Log-04:My-Saturnine-film-After-Paris I talked about my personal journey of resurrection narrated in my first ever and autobiographical film After Paris. But, as time unfolds, my personal experience may have relevance to current global events. The journey of recovery and resurrection in the film, may be emotionally relevant for the survivors of the bloodbath in the Parisian streets, and similar survivors of other catastrophe  throughout the world.

I once showed my film to my aunt who's surviving the death of her loved son, my beloved cousin and friend . She could strongly connect to my personal story and it gave her some succor from her ocean of sorrow. I hope, similarly my film can provide some succor for the victims of the Paris attack, and other survivors of personal loss, crashdown and breakdown.
Amen!

Log 04: crystal healing summary

Dear friends, in this past month, I have been narrating comprehensively in my other two blogs, about my past three months of experiences with energy healing techniques, and healing crystals under guidance of energy healer/ light-worker Dipankar Roy Karmakar. But one thing that I have consistently noticed in this period is, especially when I would log in to write a new post, that despite no new updates, there was always a consistent flow of views in this blog. This blog, out of my three blogs, always has some views on it's own, whether I update something or not. Maybe, this lays testimony to my long, unwinding Saturnine journey since 1997. And today, while uploading my perspectives on Shanidev/ Saturn in the Saturnine Energy page, I realized something. That, even though, all these years, I had been consistently working with Saturnine ideas, perspectives, processes, etc, I have never had the opportunity to work with Shanidev/ Saturn energy or healing stones. But now, after appropriate initiation, and guidance from my energy healing guide Dipankar, there now exists a window for that practice. As, coincidentally, the energy healing stones I have been working with these past two months, namely black tourmaline and since today, black onyx, are directly connected to Saturn/ Shanidev. So all the energy experiences, other things finally culminate or sum itself out in here, my Saturnine blog. For Shanidev/ Saturn is the window of physical summation, actualization, in the real, material world of substance. Jai Shanidev!

Log 03: my Saturnine film "After Paris"

As my regular periodical habit, and as with my other two blogs, today I have modified this blog Saturnine's description to "Blog about the journeys, experiences, processes, and karmic lessons of Shanidev/ Saturn." I think Shanidev/ Saturn is completely about gradual processes, long journeys,  and long brewing experiences. It's always a slow gradual unfolding with Shanidev/ Saturn. A slow unfolding journey in which we have many Karmic revelations and lessons to learn. Out of the ten names of Saturn one is "mand" which means slow/ gradual. And I think the Saturnine  experience/ process is a unwinding, spiraling, serpentine journey. It's one of gradual unfolding, development. I would compare the Saturnine path with "sahaja" yoga. Our will/ focus/ actions are ruled by the Sun, and they are hot/ live/ central to our consciousness. But often their effects are peripheral, tangential, delayed consequences are gradual build ups on the periphery, edges, which are ruled by Shanidev/ Saturn. With Saturn, the harvests are long term, gradual, peripheral and tangential.

Few days I had wanted to write and upload a post on my Neptunian blog, about my first full length film After Paris-(click link) which I had been working and wrapping up in the past two months. But somehow sat on the decision, out of pure Saturnine lethargy for a few days. And here I am posting about it on my Saturnine blog. Because I feel, at the end of it, After Paris is a highly Saturnine film about my own gradual, Karmic, personal journey over a very long period of time. A period of time in which I underwent many uncountable karmic unfoldings and experiences.

I had actually shot the Paris footage whimsically in my Paris trip of 2009, with my wife Sangeeta. And mad a rough narrative into a 20 minute structure in windows media player on my old outdated computer. Over the years I re-edited the 20 minute film many times over in different structures and formats. But then left it for a looong time to stew, and brew on my ancient, outdated computer. It was only in 2014, when my cousin Sangram Gautam (Bubka), suddenly took an interest in wrapping up the long stewing film on his editing setup. I began by shooting some scenes with him, to create up a five minute sequence to wrap up the 20 minute film. But so much I loved the cinematography and visual grammar of cousin Sangram, that I/ we went on and on, and on. Finally, we ended up with a full length 90 min, one and half hour, full length, video feature film. One which I personally feel, comprehensively and thoroughly depicted my karmic exiles, serpentine journeys, karmic odyessy over a vastre expanse of years. I feel After Paris perfectly describes my association, depiction and dedication to the word Saturnine. And, even if one person can relate to  the Saturnine experience, journey, slow brewing experience depicted in the film, I have found great personal fulfillment. Thanks to all those who accompanied me in the process.

Jai Shanidev!!

Log 02: Sombre White V.S. Sexy Saturnine Black

I originally wrote this article for my Karmic Logs blog for a post: Time for karmic cleansing: 20th Sep- 4th Oct, 2013, but have extended an appropiated it here on account of it's significant Saturnine considerations:

I always wondered about the Vedic association of the colour white  to sraddha, mourning, widowhood, funeral rituals. Why not black, as universally ascribed in the Western world to mourning rituals, funerals, gloominess, etc. This preta paksha + kalsarp yoga, I've ACTUALLY comprehended the underlying connection of white and mourning. Actually personally experienced it in a subjective and physical manner. Especially, after online interaction with a Hermetic scholar and  magickal practitioner, Ty Dawson. Who had some fantastic insights in his facebook notes on  the Sephiroth dynamics. Especially in the cosmic Opposition/ dynamics of Sephiroth (2) Chokmah V.s Binah (3). Check links:  Ty Dawson on Chokmah the sefira of masculine-divinity and  Ty Dawson on Sefira Binah: understanding female divinity.

After much thought, i came to an overwhelming conclusion. The best way to describe my past ten days of Pitru Paksha (especially boosted by the current Kalsarp Yog ): I have been feeling WHITE! White as in paleness, colourless, sparse, ni- ras ( devoid of rasa). White as in the universal scourge that bleaches our life, and makes it colourless. As opposed to serpentine, magickal, fluid potency of Black. Black as in Kali/ Tara, mystery, power, occult, magic of Shakti. WHITE as in the formal, sombre white, sterile interiors of a hospital, or the white board room of a corporate interiors. Black as in the feminine, energies of the night, Saturnine mysteries, the Third Sephiroth of Binah. WHITE as Chokmah, the blazing energy, the masculine Godhead, The Jupiterean father, Divine cosmic Father, Pitra/ Brahma/ Brihaspati. The SOMBRE WHITE connecting all rituals during Pitru paksha, paying obeisance to the Divine father, Brahma, Brihaspati, Pitra, worshiped in form of departed ancestors. WILD BLACK, as in the prevalence of shakti energies running fluid, and dynamic, for the entire course of the rest of the year! It's interesting to note that due to various curses, lord Brahma/ Pitra is only worshiped during this period of Pitra Paksh! Hence, original Vedic standpoint is more from the point of Binah ( worship of Cosmic Divine Mother), rather than Chokmah signifying the worship of Cosmic Divine Father, represented by Christianity.

Damn! due to the influence of Pitru Paksh/ Brahma/ Pitra, I'm sounding like an Jupiterean scholar, a priestly guy, a knowledgeable scholar. Not me, at all!! FOR, I'm a Saturnine, Binah ruled guy, full of flux, duality, fluid motion, and deconstruction. And this Pitra/ Chokmah (2) phase is helping me understand and recognise my own inner Binah / Saturnine nature much better! BUT FOR A CONSIDERABLE TIME IN MY LIFE REGARDLESS/ IGNORANT OF MY INNER NATURE, i had been ADOPTING and IMBIBING the Jupiterean principles of Chokmah/ Divine father/ Cosmic Patriarch/ Brahma principles. At my own cost. At my own great undoing..!!

Log 01: Saturnine beginnings

I began my astrological journey while still being an Architectural student in Mumbai. to cut a long story short, the journey was jump started by finding the book  The Greatness of Saturn by Robert E. Svoboda  in a nearby book fair in 1997. After a long journey I discovered the Serpentine Nodes, karmic designs of life etc, etc, becoming a Vastu consultant, astrologer myself. Yesternight, 15th Sept '13, i was up late updating a Post on Kalsarp yog transit, 2013 in my Serpentine blog dedicated to the nodes. later i was scrambling through my old archives, found an PDF book Fire and Ice; the Brotherhood of Saturn by Stephen Flowers. Browsing through it late night, i discovered this ancient German theosophic order had perfectly embraced, understood, and proliferated the rather difficult Saturnine path. A viewpoint which refreshingly shook of the stranglehold from the classical Aryan Vedic standpoint which lay emphasis on Sun as the centre of the astrological universe. Or the classical Roman- Greico stanpoint providing a rather lopsided  logocentric/ centric viewpoint on the importance of Saturn or Lord Shanidev, in our material existence. I feel the Saturnine viewpoint embraces duality, the serpentine deconstruction of Nature embodied by the post modern Aquarian age. Hence under the extreme significant auspice of Saturn + rahu in my ascendant sign Libra, and the Kalsarpa in my ascendant axis, and prevailing Chinese year of the Serpen, I commence, or rather re- commence this blog on the philosophy, metaphysical, scholarly, deconstructive, occult, post modern, Karmic approach of fabulous yet highly misunderstood Saturn/ Lord Shanidev, titled.. Saturnine. Jai Shanidev!
