Prologue
24th July, Thursday, day 12 of 14 days of Red Hot Rising phase of annual Saturn retrograde. As mentioned in the earlier post, Mars Ketu deep conjunction in Purva Phalguni, pada 4, Scorpio Navamsa, made it scorchingly Hot like Hell from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday morning. How Hot and Apocalyptic was this crossing? A movie brought these emotions to life, artistic expression. Which I saw half on Tuesday night, half on Wednesday night. Exactly at this omnious crossing of two phases. If you see my posts from seven years back, each Saturn Retrograde, I had coincidentally come across great Epic movies which expressed the flavour, taste, quality of Saturn retro through that particular sign, prevailing planetary transits at that time, transit and sign.
Retrograde Epic Movie
The plot is simple. In the Old West, a young student Will Andrews drops out of Harvard, comes to the frontier to join Buffalo hunter Miller ( Nicholas Cage) in a hunting expedition. This was during the period of great demand for Buffalo hides.
Unlike other hunters, Miller is in quest of a great mythical massive herd in a remote land. Where other hunting trips take less than a week, their expedition runs into several months, because of the bloodthirsty greed of Miller. The three man crew is left to the mercy of the harsh elements of nature far away from civilization.
And in the course of their prolonged, damned, apocalyptic, journey, as the naive Harvard dropout Will, questions his own intentions seeking adventure, we, as an audience, question our own innate bloodthirsty, greed, lurking within us, in our quest, ambition, to become GREATER than others, in our search of glory and achievement.
The Buffalo is the official vehicle/ animal upon which both Lord Shanidev and Lord Yama, ride upon. In the frontier land, the technical Bison, is mentioned as Buffalo. But they are sub species of the same Buffalo genus. Their complete oblivious ness, their stationary state, even when they are being shot down, massacred, completely shows the current Retrograde motion.
The sheer butchery, savage, rawness, of the hunting expedition for buffalo hide, shows the exact energies of Mars Ketu deep conjunct in Purva Phalguni, pada 4, Scorpio Navamsa.
The sheer Dumbness, numbness of the low score of the general audience review shows the apathy, of the herds, as they stand stationary, in the face of great spiritual crises, trapped in their own, cosy existential limbos.
I saw Mandy stg: Nicholas Cage, during the second Covid lockdown, in the Great Conjunction, namely Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto, after 100 years, in Capricorn. It was brutal like the times prevailing.
And Butcher's Crossing by comparison is more like a documentary, factual narrative of a Buffalo hunting expedition gone wrong. More objective, distant, detached. The response is completely upon the viewer. It also shows that, post Covid, since our relationship to social media, digital platforms have increased manifold, our empathy has manifold decreased. Our apathy, insensitivity, as we are sucked into the existential limbos of our narrow individual existences.
Gloomy??
NOT if you find yourselves watching such existential films during such Retrograde transits, WHEN, you're SUPPOSED to be in this state of self questioning, introspection, as per the schedule of the great wheels of time and fate.
Prologue
I was supposed to blog about a amazing new branding line, my client/friend, has bravely launched. I was supposed to blog about a new healing method that I have found.
But I guess not... not before I had to cross the butchers crossing, and retrograde/ retrospect into violent legacies from our past lives lurking inside our subconscious. The invisible effects and remnants of which we experience in our daily lives. And needs to processed. Especially during this time..
